Gearbox Software have announced the Homeworld Remastered Collection will be realised on PC February 25th.
The collection features the classic game from Relic redone with help from the original team and an army of fans.
The remastered collection will include Homeworld and Homeworld 2. Purists will not be left out either with the original versions of both games also included, with just compatibility added. The original featured a long single player campaign and a death match type mode. The remastered collection includes access to a multiplayer beta on Steam.
The space-based RTS was first released in 1999 by Relic and Sierra and made a huge impact with great graphics and a really compelling story and soundtrack. Homeworld: Cataclysm followed in 2000 and Homeworld 2 in 2003.
Gearbox acquired the rights to the game in 2013, beating a Kickstarter campaign to buy it.
Here at TTH we are big fans of the original and spent many an hour trying to protect our fleet immersed in the narrative, if you’ve not played the game before you should really give it a go. We found the single campaign to be great fun and it is something a little different from the openness of Eve.
You can pre-order on Steam for $34.99, with a discount currently running of 15%.
